"Hello! I'm Nicole Myers, and I want everyone who lives, works, and plays in Bellevue to love our city as much as my family and I do."
Bellevue is a vibrant, growing city, and I'm dedicated to managing this growth responsibly. As we work to meet our housing needs, including those defined by state initiatives like HB1110, my commitment is to ensure this evolution enhances, rather than diminishes, what makes our community special. This means protecting the unique character of our neighborhoods while championing high standards for livability – from expanding our tree canopy and improving our streetscapes to fostering a welcoming and dynamic urban experience for all residents.
Support Nicole's CampaignBellevue must grow in a way that truly serves everyone who calls it home. This includes creating more housing options where our families can feel secure and our children can flourish, as well as ensuring accessible, affordable homes are available for our seniors and young adults, designed to meet their specific needs. I believe in finding practical ways to improve everyday life. For instance, I've advocated for higher construction standards in new apartments, like better sound-proofing, to significantly enhance residents' peace and quiet.
My experiences cycling and walking our city with my children constantly reinforce how vital our public spaces and street design are. Every resident should feel safe and at ease moving around Bellevue. This means prioritizing not only well-designed streetscapes for pedestrians and cyclists but also ensuring dependable travel times for drivers and transit and maintaining public safety as an essential component of our welcoming city character.
My passion for community extends to actively organizing local events and my previous experience serving on an elected neighborhood board, where I focused on helping people get answers and connect with their representatives. Here in Bellevue, I've been a consistent voice at Transportation and Planning Commission meetings. To further encourage civic engagement, I created newbellevue.com and a weekly newsletter, dedicated to keeping our residents informed about important city decisions and how they can make their voices heard.
Bellevue is at a pivotal moment. The decisions we make now will shape our city for generations to come. Your voice is crucial as we navigate this path forward, and I'm here to listen and ensure our community's values guide our progress.
As Bellevue continues to evolve, I will champion the protection of our unique neighborhoods. This means actively working to expand our vital tree canopy and upholding high standards for our streetscapes, ensuring a beautiful and livable urban experience for everyone.
I am dedicated to fostering a Bellevue where everyone can find a place to call home. This includes advocating for a greater variety of housing choices for families, ensuring affordable and accessible options for our seniors and young adults, and pushing for improved construction standards—like better sound-proofing in new apartments—to enhance the quality of life for all residents.
Every Bellevue resident deserves to move around our city safely and comfortably, whether walking, cycling, or driving. I will work to create streetscapes that are welcoming to all, while also ensuring dependable travel times and prioritizing public safety as a cornerstone of an effective transit system.
A truly vibrant city is more than just homes and offices; it thrives on its 'third spaces' – our parks, libraries, community centers, and local gathering spots. I am committed to protecting and enhancing these essential places where we build connections and our community comes alive.
City Hall must be accountable and responsive to the people it serves. I will focus on refining Bellevue’s processes to ensure they deliver consistent, transparent, and cost-effective results that truly reflect the values and priorities of our residents.
